Here at First Presbyterian Church of Lynchburg, we aspire to be a church that worships, loves, serves, and grows as a community! We hope that you will join us one weekend as we gather to worship God and grow together! We understand that visiting somewhere new can be scary, you have nothing to be afraid of here. Our hope is that from the moment you walk through the doors you feel the love of Christ and receive a warm welcome!
We have temporarily moved worship to the Fellowship Hall (in the back of the building) starting Sunday, August 18 through November. We have shifted the worship location due to an ongoing construction project in our Sanctuary during 2024. For more details on that project, click here!

ABOUT WORSHIP
Our traditional worship service at 9:30am is held in our beautiful sanctuary each Sunday! We are currently worshiping in the Fellowship Hall through November 2024. Worship is open to all! Many people like to dress in their Sunday best while others wear a little more relaxed attire. The choice is yours.
Each service has a moment for young children to come to the front for a short message followed by a classroom learning experience (see more below). Nursery care providers are available for children three and under starting at 9:00am! Our nursery care team members are CPR certified and have passed official background checks.
We do have virtual opportunities to worship via livestream and the radio if you would like to visit us from afar first! While we worship in the Fellowship Hall, both the livestream and live radio broadcast are unavailable.
INFANTS AND CHILDREN IN WORSHIP
All children are welcome at FPC… no ifs, ands, or buts about it!
Nursery is available from 9:00am to 12:00pm! The nursery is available for children 3 years old and under. The nursery is located on the Ground Floor and is best accessed from our rear entrance. At all times, our nursery care providers are certified in CPR and First Aid and successfully passed background checks. We have a safe check in process and request you bring your own diapers, wipes, snacks, and let us know if your child has any allergies or health concerns our nursery team needs to be aware of!
We invite children to join worship and have a special moment for children during the service. We have created Education Worship Carts, which can be found in the worship space, filled with books, tools to help memorization, puzzles, and other educational items for children to grab and engage in during worship!
After the "children's moment" we offer a classroom education opportunity called Worship Workshop to help children learn about worship elements, become familiar with Bible stories and people, and develop spiritually in an engaging, age-appropriate way.

WHERE DO I GO?
Parking spaces are located in the front and back of the building. We have handicapped spaces in the front circle (close to the church entrance) and in the front parking lot for easier access to the Sanctuary.
The back parking lot may be most convenient for families with children in the Nursery as the Nursery entrance is in the back of the building. Our care providers or an usher will be able to assist you in walking through the building to get to the Sanctuary!
