Sending Mission Teams
FPCLY has a history of sending mission teams out in the United States to strengthen and deepen faith and build relationships through service in another community. Past mission teams have served in Washington DC, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia (multiple locations), North Carolina (multiple locations), Chicago, Illinois and Gulfport, Mississippi.
Hosting Other Church Teams
First Presbyterian has also had the joyous pleasure of hosting mission teams from other churches looking to serve in the Lynchburg community on their own national mission trip. They partner with organizations in our community to share God's love and hope and desire to stay with another church rather than at a hotel or retreat location. What a cool way for the body of Christ to join together in mission! The last team we hosted was a group of youth from Pottstown, Pennsylvania in 2022.
