Children's Ministries
We believe in the importance of welcoming children with open arms and providing safe spaces for them to learn, explore, and grow.
SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP
Worship Carts
We have created worship carts that are full of Biblically-oriented activities and even some fidget toys for children to explore in their seats during worship. The Worship Carts are located in the worship space. An usher will assist you in finding them!
Worship Workshop
Children ages 4 through 2nd grade are invited to learn about worship: what it is, why we worship, special Sundays in the church year like Baptism Sundays, and build the foundation of their own faith community in our Worship Workshop class following the Children's Moment. Normally, children are brought back to the Narthex lobby after worship to connect with their families! While we worship in the Fellowship Hall, grownups are asked to pick their child(ren) up in the Worship Workshop room for the children's safety.

SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES
Our Sunday School classes for preschool and elementary school aged children are designed to help children explore Bible stories, characters, and Biblical lessons through music, play, storytelling, art, and more! This year, our theme is "A spark, a flame...SPREADING God's name." Children will learn about God and grow in their understanding of who He is and our call to share His love and grace with others! All classrooms for preschool and elementary school children are on the 2nd floor. All teachers have many years of experience with teaching children and have successfully completed background checks.

Classes for Elementary Children

Children will be divided into three age groups:
- Ks & 1st graders, Room 205, led by Mr. Kinkade and Ms. Diane
- 2nd & 3rd graders, Room 210, led by Ms. Cat
- 4th & 5th graders, Room 212, led by Ms. Kara
NURSERY CARE
Nursery care is available for all infants and toddlers ages three and under for Sunday worship, educational opportunities and for identified special events. The nursery, located in Room 8 on the ground floor of the church, will be available from 9am - 12pm on Sundays.
The nursery is most easily accessed from the Weekday School entrance in the rear of the building.
The FPCLY nursery is staffed with loving and committed employees to help provide comfort and a peace of mind as you worship and grow with other adults. All nursery staff are CPR certified and have successfully completed a background check.
FPC Weekday School
The FPC Weekday School operates as one of the most vibrant ministries of FPCLY and has been that way since its beginning! The Weekday School has operated as a ministry of First Presbyterian Church providing Christian-based educational opportunities for children in our community for over 75 years. With over 80 students (and room to grow) ages 1 to 5 and 15 staff filling classrooms, hallways, and playgrounds, God’s love and joy abound as the next generation is inspired for Christ.
