Malawi Christmas Gift Program
The National & World Mission Committee would like to thank all the many donors at First Presbyterian Church who gave "gifts that keep on giving" to help our brothers and sisters in Malawi. There were many kinds of Gifts provided in 2009. For Kalikumbi Church - 13 Pews and 32 Hymnals; 100 Bibles for Student Christian Organization of Malawi (SCOM) students; 50 Scholarships for Secondary School (tuition,room and board-one term) , $500 for Kalikumbi multi-purpose technical building construction and equipment; $500 for micro-loans (Loudon PresbyteryCommittee); Maternity and Infant Care in Kalikumbi for thirty-five patients; 5 Treadle Pumps for crop irrigation; and 3 Shallow Wells to provide clean drinking water. Our efforts in the Kalikumbi and Embangweni communities have helped to change lives and can improve opportunities for economic self-sufficiency. . .

Earthquake Relief- Malawi
The National and World Mission Committee also sent funds for relief to help those affected by the 7.0 Richter scale earthquake that struck the Karonga district in northern Malawi in early December, 2009.
