Children's Sunday school (Five year olds through 5th grade) had a new look last year, and we had a lot of fun! Children will continue to meet on the second floor to take part in F.A.I.T.H. Mountain, where they will: Produce Friendships, Adore God, Invite Friends, Seek Truth, and Help Others!
F.A.I.T.H. Mountain is a workshop rotation curriculum where children learn about one Bible story through an entire month as they rotate through workshops by grade:
Hallelujah Hikers - 5 year olds, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade
Truth Trekkers - 2nd and 3rd Grades
Kingdom Climbers - 4th and 5th grades
Workshops include: Creation Canyon (arts and crafts), Parable Pavilion (drama and storytelling), Games Gap (games and puzzles), and Disovery Den (a bonus - each month it changes; spiritual practices, science, cooking, etc.)
Parable Pavilion
The Story of Abraham & Sarah
Along with a new Bible story, the teachers for each workshop will change every month. Each group will be guided by two Rangers who will be with the children throughout the year. See Meggan Farwell for an opportunity to teach in the winter or Spring (434-384-6231) or meggan@fpcly.org. We still have several openings.
Worship Workshop
Worship Workshop is a great option for your 3–6 year old children who are not ready to sit through the traditional worship service. Children interested in this alternative may exit through the rear doors of the sanctuary during the eleven o’clock service, after the “Time with the Children.” The children are escorted to the Worship Workshop (three and four year olds) and Gateways to Worship (Kindergarteners and 1st graders) classrooms for age appropriate lessons and crafts. The classrooms are located on the ground floor, near the elevator and the back parking lot. Parents are asked to meet their child in the classroom after the service.
