Baptism

One of our pastors would be glad to assist you in planning your infant’s Baptism into the Christian community.

Confirmation

Confirmation is an important step in the Christian maturity of the youth at First Presbyterian Church. Confirmation will take place for six consecutive Sundays this winter from 3:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M. Confirmation class will begin Sunday, January 23 and will run through Sunday, February 27.

Confirmation culminates with a service of worship Sunday, March 6 in which the youth have a chance to publically profess their faith and become full members of First Presbyterian Church during the 11:00 A.M. service.

Throughout the confirmation process, youth will learn the biblical foundations and theology of the Apostle's Creed, the Ten Commandments, and the Lord's Prayer. They will also have a chance to explore the meaning of their baptism and their participation at the Lord's Supper, as well as learn about church polity, stewardship, spiritual practices, worship and mission.

Confirmation class is open to all unconfirmed youth grade 7 and above who are interested in taking this step in their faith journey. Attendance is mandatory at all sessions. Look for more information in the mail about requirements and sign ups.
